Game #1 - Aotenjo: Infinite Hands

BALATRO BUT MAHJONG

GENRE: ROGUELIKE DECKBUILDER, STRATEGY, MAHJONG

Balatro quickly became one of my all time favorite games and I’m always looking for something that will scratch that itch!

Aotenjo: Infinite Hands is a deck-building game that combines the ancient game of Mahjong with roguelike mechanics.

Players explore the mysterious Aotenjo, battling threats and uncovering secrets by leveraging Mahjong patterns, combos, and strategies inspired by over 40 regional Mahjong styles.

Utilize 144 unique Artifacts to enhance gameplay.

Discover and activate 100 Mahjong Patterns (Yakus) to build powerful combos.

Each run offers fresh challenges with seeded level generation, introducing new Artifacts, gadgets, and augments.

Integrates elements from diverse Mahjong traditions, such as Richii, MCR, and Cantonese Mahjong.

Adapt your strategy using Tiles, Patterns, and Artifacts to overcome enemies and activate rare Patterns to turn the tide.

The reviews are great and I’ll definitely be spending some time mastering this game. :)

Game #2 - Butcher’s Creek

IT’S ALL ABOUT SURVIVAL…

GENRE: ACTION, HACK AND SLASH, COMBAT, HORROR

I was going to wait a while before promoting another David Szymanski, but I didn’t realise Butcher’s Creek was just released!

As you know I’m a huge fan of David’s work. So when he releases a new game I have to promote it.

They are always top tier games!

Butcher’s Creek is a gritty, atmospheric survival horror experience set in the remote Appalachian Forest.

You assume the role of a troubled loner drawn to an abandoned cabin near Butcher's Creek, Pennsylvania, by rumors of authentic snuff tapes.

When captured by a gang of sadistic killers, the protagonist must fight for survival using improvised weapons and their environment…

This week’s spotlight is for Youtuber bizlychannel.

Bizly makes extremely good gaming content that covers a range of games.

His content is a breath of fresh air. He puts a lot of time and effort into every video and they are all incredibly entertaining.

I highly recommend watching his RE7 video. It is so well done and my new favourite commentary style.

A TURN BASED POLITICS SIM!

GENRE: POLITICAL SIM, POLITICS, SIMULATION

I thought this game was pretty topical…

The Political Process is a turn-based political simulator where you create a custom politician and navigate the complexities of the American political system.

Players can run for various political offices, from local positions to the presidency, while managing campaigns, writing legislation, and balancing budgets.

This game offers a realistic, challenging, and evolving simulation of political life, from local governance to national leadership.

It seems like anyone can be a politician these days so why not give it a shot?
