Game #1 - Pseudoregalia

DEEP WITHIN THE REALM OF SLEEP…

GENRE: 3D PLATFORMER, METROIDVANIA, RETRO, FEMALE PROTAGONIST

AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC

I saw Pseudoregalia on Steam a few months back and saw the many positive reviews, as well as the unique visuals.

Pseudoregalia is a trippy, retro-style 3D platformer Metroidvania where you play as Sybil, a warrior who wakes up in a twisted dream world—Castle Sansa.

The place is a mess, filled with secrets, enemies, and eerie vibes, and it's up to you to explore, power up, and figure out what’s going on before the dream collapses.

The gameplay is all about tight movement and platforming, with cool abilities (like an air kick) that let you approach challenges your way.

Combat is light but keeps you on your toes, and the whole thing is wrapped in a low-poly, PS1-style aesthetic with modern refinements.

If you love Metroidvanias with fluid movement and moody dreamlike worlds, this one’s worth checking out!

I love co-op games. This is one that you and a friend will have a blast with!

Big Helmet Heroes is a 3D beat ’em up packed with adorable yet fierce knights, wild combat, and cinematic animations.

Game #3 - The Night Of The Scissors

SCAP HUNTING TURNS INTO A NIGHTMARE

GENRE: HORROR, SURVIVAL HORROR, EXPLORATION, RETRO, ACTION

AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, MAC, LINUX

I’m a huge fan of retro psx horror games. Particularly games made by Puppet Combo.

The Night of the Scissors is heavily inspired by Puppet Combo and has that same awesome VHS retro aesthetic and fell.

You play as Adam, who breaks into an abandoned post office in search of scrap, only to realize he’s not alone.

A scissor-wielding maniac is lurking in the shadows, and now survival is the only thing that matters.

The game features cinematic cameras, tank controls, and an eerie VHS aesthetic that brings the tension to life.

As you explore, you’ll need to stay stealthy, hide in wardrobes and bathroom stalls, and find a way out before it's too late.

With a chilling atmosphere, unsettling sound design, and glimpses of a larger mystery, this is a solid survival horror experience that horror fans will enjoy.

Game #4 - Dawnfolk

AN INTERESTING CITY BUILDER

GENRE: ROGUELIKE, STRATEGY, PIXEL GRAPHICS, CITY BUILDER

AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, MAC, LINUX, SWITCH

Dawnfolk is a dark yet charming survival city-builder where you rebuild your lost kingdom and fight back against an encroaching darkness.

With the help of Lueur, a fiery little companion, you’ll gather resources, expand your settlement, and protect your people from the lurking shadows.

Mini games add a fun twist to survival, helping you earn supplies as you grow from a tiny camp to a thriving city.

It’s easy to pick up but has plenty of depth, the game lets you explore, strategize, and make tough choices that shape your realm’s fate.

Dawnfolk is really well made and I’m really glad to see AAA devs switching to the indie game scene!
