Game #1 - PEAK

ANOTHER GREAT COMEDY CO-OP!
GENRE: PHYSICS, MULTIPLAYER, ONLINE CO-OP, 3D
AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, STEAM DECK
I should have included PEAK in last week’s email! I really love this co-op game concept and can’t believe the small indie team built it in only 1 month!
PEAK is a hilarious co-op climbing game where you and your scout buddies are stranded on a mysterious island and your only way out is to scale a deadly mountain that changes every single day.
The mountain range really is a new seed every day so you’ll be able to scale a brand new mountain daily with your friends.
The main thing you’ll need to manage in this game is your stamina. PEAK has a really creative stamina system - it’s a lot like Breath of the Wild’s climbing mechanic.
If your stamina runs out then you risk falling to your death. Which is hilarious, but reduces the resources your team can carry with them!
You’ll find resources like food, bandages and climbing tools that will help aid your climb to the summit. You’ll also be able reset and recover at designated camping points.
This is another great addition to comedy co-op genre and I personally want to see more games like it! (More about this in today’s opinion poll)

Game #2 - Hypnospace Outlaw

THIS GAME SOUNDS OUT THERE, BUT YOU NEED TO TRY IT.
GENRE: SURVIVAL 1990s, SIMULATION, POINT & CLICK, RETRO, SURREAL
AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, MAC, LINUX, STEAM DECK
Hypnospace Outlaw throws you into a retro-futuristic dream-internet straight out of the ‘90s.
You play as a volunteer "Enforcer" patrolling Hypnospace while people sleep, hunting down copyright offenders, cyberbullies and all-around digital weirdos.
It’s like moderating a Geocities fever dream - complete with all of the 90's unhinged spinning GIFs, sketchy downloads, cursed music files, and suspicious pop-ups.
You’ll dig through hilariously bizarre websites, dodge viruses, earn digital cash, and customize your desktop with obnoxious screensavers and helper bots. It’s half detective sim, half internet nostalgia trip and 100% strange.
The Hypnospace is yours to explore. Follow the rules or go rogue and find it’s deepest corners - it is up to you!

Game #3 - Camper Van: Make It Home

START YOUR CHILL SUMMER BY DECORATING YOUR DREAM CAMPER VAN
GENRE: CASUAL, CUTE, RELAXING, PUZZLE, FAMILY FRIENDLY
AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, MAC, STEAM DECK
Camper Van: Make It Home is all about turning a cozy little van into your perfect home-on-wheels. It's a chill puzzle and decorating game where you organize your stuff, place cute furniture and design your van’s interior and exterior as you road trip through beaches, forests, snowy spots and cliffside views.
There’s no rush, no stress - just you, your stuff, a few blocky puzzles and a furry companion by your side.
Rearrange items until everything feels just right, then roll into the next scenic stop on your journey of self-discovery.
It’s relaxing, wholesome, and the perfect digital escape for anyone who dreams of van life with good vibes only.

Game #4 - SLUDGE LIFE

A HUGELY UNDERRATED INDIE GAME
GENRE: INDIE, ADVENTURE, ATMOSPHERIC, OPEN WORLD
AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, STEAM DECK
SLUDGE LIFE is a chaotic, grimy and weirdly hilarious first-person open-world game where you play as GHOST, an up-and-coming graffiti artist trying to make a name for yourself on a gross, corporately-owned island drowning in sludge.
You explore rooftops, tag every surface you can find, talk to a cast of absolute weirdos and decide if you want to rise to the top - or just blow the whole thing up.
It’s got a dedicated fart button, a cat with two buttholes (**), a suspiciously addicting in-game video game and a vibe so thick it oozes from your screen.
The vibes are calming and there are zero rules. This game is so underappreciated.
Ideal for players who love satire and free roam gameplay.

GOOD OR BAD OPINION?
OPINION: “Friendslop” is a terrible term for co-op based indie games like Lethal Company, R.E.P.O, PEAK etc. These games are meant to be amateurish and smaller in scope, but ultimately they focus on FUN experiences with your friends. This is a nice change to half baked AAA titles or even for playing in between big triple A title releases. I think that these games bring life into gaming and I would like to see more of them!

Game #5 - SEASON: A Letter To The Future

SEE THE BEAUTY IN A DYING WORLD WHILST YOU CAN
GENRE: OPEN WORLD, MYSTERY, VISUAL NOVEL, NARRATIVE
AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, MAC, STEAM DECK
SEASON: A Letter to the Future is a chill, but emotional road trip game where you hop on your bike and pedal through a beautiful, mysterious world that’s about to be wiped clean by a looming cataclysm.
You play as a young traveler leaving home for the first time, trying to document everything - sounds, photos, sketches, stories - before it all disappears.
It’s not about saving the world, it’s about understanding it. You’ll meet strange and thoughtful characters, record their final moments of the season and create a one-of-a-kind journal packed with memories.
If you’re into games that feel like quiet, thoughtful walks through art, SEASON would be a great pick.
