Indie Game Preachers - Edition #135

🕹️ Can control 2 characters at the same time? ❌ Stop Killing Games Petition. A Chaotic Kingdom Roguelike, A Game with 100 Different Endings, A Dark Humor 1984 Gameshow, A Dungeon Crawler Roguelike.

SUMMARY (new)

Welcome back to Indie Game Preachers! 🕹️

SOME UPDATES: I’ve added this section so that I can give a quick overview of any important updates, general indie gaming news or just things I want to share with you all.

🎯 I launched a new daily browser game called “Guess The Indie Game”. Each day there will be a new indie game that you need to guess based on 6 screenshots. It would mean the world to me if you tried it out and if you could share it with some fellow indie game lovers. (https://indiegamepreachers.com/guess-the-indie-game/)

🏆 We’re closing in on 5,000 readers and I just want to say thank you so much. I’m so glad each one of you are here and also love playing and discovering new indie games.

❌ The “Stop Killing Games” EU initiative is at 1.1m signatures but needs around 1.4m to help ensure any “invalid signatures” don’t impact the petition’s future. You can help support the petition here: https://www.stopkillinggames.com/

GUESS THE INDIE GAME (new)

Want to put your indie game knowledge to the test? Well, I’ve made a new daily browser game that shows you 6 screenshots from an indie game and it is your job to guess which indie game it is.

The aim is to test your indie game knowledge but also help you discover new indie games that you might not know about.

There will be a new indie game to guess on each day of the week, similar to Wordle, Globle, Framed etc.

Guess today’s indie game here ➡️ Guess The Indie Game

P.S. Any sharing on social media or discord would be really appreciated! ❤️

Game #1 - Ambidextro

YOU MUST CONTROL 2 CHARACTERS AT THE SAME TIME! (HENCE “AMBIDEXTRO”)

GENRE: PRECISION PLATFORMER, ACTION, 2D PLATFORMER, INDIE

AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, MAC, LINUX, STEAM DECK

I’m in love with Ambidextro! It has been my newest addiction.

The premise is simple - you must control two characters at the same time - one with each hand - trying to rescue a prince and a princess after a witch splits you in half (literally).

Each level splits the screen in half with both wizard characters starting on opposite sides of the screen.

However, each side is not identical, so you really will have to control both characters and think about what they are doing.

Your job is to precision platform both wizards until they can touch together (reuniting both halves of the wizard) before the timer runs out.

The jumps and timing are super tight which makes for an incredible challenge.

I imagine this is great for your brain too. Also, if you are a musician you might have an advantage here too.

There are 100 levels to complete and you will feel like a genius after you complete each one.

I’m so glad I took a chance on this game. This is one of my favorite indie games of 2025 so far.

Game #2 - Sol Cesto

ROLL THE DICE AND CHASE THE SUN (INDIE GEM)

GENRE: EARLY ACCESS, DUNGEON CRAWLER, TACTICAL, PUZZLE, ROGUELITE

AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, STEAM DECK

I have followed the devs for Sol Cesto on BlueSky for a while after I came across the beautiful visuals for their game. Seriously some of my absolutely favorite game visual ever.

However, somehow I missed that they had launched their game into early access, but luckily I am covering it now!

Sol Cesto is a fast-paced, tactical roguelite where every step could be your last - or your lucky break. You’re diving through a creepy, ever-changing dungeon trying to find the long-lost sun.

Every move drops you onto a random tile. That could be a treasure chest, a bloodthirsty monster or a trap that ruins your run.

You pick a hero, upgrade them with weird magical loot and cursed teeth and try to outsmart the chaos.

The game’s all about managing risk, stacking wild powers and twisting the odds in your favor.

A fantastic indie gem!

Game #3 - 9 Kings

ROGUELIKE KINGDOM CHAOS

GENRE: STRATEGY, RPG, ROGUELIKE, FANTASY, ROGUELITE

AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, MAC, STEAM DECK

9 Kings is a city builder, a roguelike and a war game all in one.

You start with a tiny village and grow it into an overpowered war machine by stacking buildings, troops and spells in totally broken combos.

Every run is full of chaos: random events, rival kings, armies of wizards, imps, knights and even mushrooms.

You’ll loot enemy decks, mix playstyles and try to survive wave after wave of increasingly wild battles.

Plus, with the right cards you can break the game so hard that nothing stands a chance.

It’s fast, strategic and totally ridiculous in the best way. Another genuinely awesome indie game!

COMMUNITY VOTE

VOTE: If you could only play 1 of these indie games ever again, which would it be?

Note: I’ve moved the voting to indiegamepreachers.com so that the community can comment on opinions and interact with each other etc.

Game #4 - Ministry of Broadcast

DYSTOPIA, DEATHTRAPS AND DARK HUMOUR

GENRE: ADVENTURE, INDIE, PIXEL GRAPHICS, DYSTOPIAN, 2D

AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, MAC, STEAM DECK, SWITCH

In Ministry of Broadcast, you play as a sarcastic, ginger-haired dude trapped in a dystopian nightmare where the only way to reunite with your family is to win a brutal reality TV show run by a totalitarian Regime. It’s like if 1984 met Takeshi’s Castle.

You’ll run, jump and puzzle your way through crumbling arenas under the watchful eye of Big Brother - often at the expense of a few unlucky bystanders.

It’s full of dark humor, brutal choices and the kind of platforming that punishes hesitation.

Game #5 - Reventure

100 WAYS TO SCREW UP A HERO’S JOURNEY

GENRE: ADVENTURE, INDIE, PIXEL GRAPHICS, MULTIPLE ENDINGS

AVAILABLE PLATFORMS: PC, STEAM DECK

In Reventure, you play as a wannabe hero in a pixel world where every dumb decision leads to a different ending - literally 100 of them.

Go save the princess, or... steal a sword and get arrested, trip over a rock and die, blow up the kingdom, whatever.

The game resets but still remembers, so the world subtly changes as you do.

It’s a barrel of laughs and is usually available for less than 1 dollar!
