Meccha Chameleon has been trending on social media this week and it’s because of its genius game mechanic!

It’s a game of hide and seek, but the players hiding have the ability to paint themselves into the background enivronment.

Don’t worry if you are a terrible painter because you can easily paint yourself one colour and still find good hiding spots.

The game is due to be released on June 10th. Tomorrow (Saturday May 30th) there is a playtest happening if you want to try the game out before it launches.

On the game’s steam page there is a discord link if you want to part take in that event!

I absolutely love this idea! It just goes to show how creative the indie game space is.

CHESS LORE + DARK SOULS GAMEPLAY!

GENRE: SOULS-LIKE, HACK AND SLASH, ATMOSPHERIC, SPECTACLE FIGHTER, GOD GAME

I saw this game a while back on Instagram but had forgotten about it!

Stonemachia is an action-adventure game heavily inspired by the souls games.

I highly recommend watching the trailer as it looks amazing and immediately captures the souls vibe.

You play as a pawn called Zefiro who has to fight his way through this hellish underworld in order to reach heaven.

You’ll encounter scores of fallen angels based on chess pieces and you must overcome the odds to defeat them.

I definitely recommend any souls fans check this one out. I’ve still to play the game, but it is one I will be playing soon.

Another unbelievable project from the indie scene.

SURVIVAL HORROR FARMING SIM!

GENRE: EARLY ACCESS, FARMING SIM, HORROR, MANAGEMENT, RPG

One of the best indie games I’ve played recently was Grimshire, so naturally Besmirch caught my attention!

This genre of farming sims that make you the sole provided for a starving village is a brutal genre, but they have really helped refresh farming sims.

In Besmirch, you've been hired to work a farm in the isolated town of Besmirch. The land is failing, the people are frightened, and the Baron’s tithe grows heavier by the day.

Whispers of an apocalypse drift between shuttered windows and every night unholy monstrosities move beyond the fields.

Your task is as simple as it is impossible: keep the town alive long enough to save it.

The game is currently in early access but the reviews have been really positive so far!

ADDICTIVE OLD SCHOOL ARCADE SHOOTER

I wanted to include something a but more “old school” in the newsletter today, so I went for Blue Revolver.

It’s a retro-style shoot ‘em up bullet hell with nostalgic graphics and super satisfying gameplay. Not to mention a BRILLIANT soundtrack that will fire you up and adds so much to the game.

You can never go wrong with a good fishing game loop.

Go fishing, prep your catches by descaling them (you do this manually and it is insanely satisfying), sell them to your hungry customers and then use the profits to upgrade your fishing gear.

Scale the Depths has plenty of secrets and curiosities for you to uncover too!

What’s it about?
